Our First Out Shoot

On August 6th our first out Shoot took place at the Plettenberg Game Park. The day started off with the promise of beautiful weather to come, as Ian and son Warren teamed up at the Ian Fleming Photographic Gallery to meet the group consisting of; Tommy and Michelle Joyce, John Metelerkamp, and Anniki Joseph

After a relatively short trip we were met with a warm arrival of coffee, rusks and a warm fire place. Our guide, Johan, briefed us on the history and surrounds, and soon we were on the road, or should    I say, striaght into the bush, where not far away there was a crash of Rhinocerous lazing around in the morning sun.

The beauty of The Plettenberg Game Park, is that the surrounds are very open and rather flat, which made great for shooting. A wide variety of game was capture by the lenses of the group, including      lion, buffalo, giraffe, hippo and many antelope species.

After a superb lunch in the African Boma, we were back on track, this time heading up the mountain into the fynbos and down to the river. The veiws from the ridge of the mountain were breath taking and realisation that we truely are in a magical place was felt by everyone.

Late afternoon, and back at the fire place sipping sherry and comparing shots with each other, it felt as if the day could have lasted forever.
